Two weeks after prominent attorney Dana Seetahal, SC, was brutally gunned down inside her Volkswagen SUV, police say they have no major update to share with the public. In a brief telephone interview, the acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams yesterday told the T&T Guardian when there was any significant update in the case, the public, through the media, would be informed.
Asked about statements made by Minister of National Security Gary Griffith last week that foreign assistance in investigating the case had been sought and received, Williams said he would not be responding to that. Seetahal, an attorney for 34 years, was shot dead just after midnight on May 4 at Hamilton Holder Street, Woodbrook, as she was driving to her home at One Woodbrook Place. Media reports suggested that at least four men were held in connection with her murder but those reports have been debunked by the police.
