Victim stabs bandit, seizes gun

Thursday, February 5, 2015

A bandit who broke into a Chaguanas family’s home yesterday was stabbed several times by his would-be victim. Central Division police have asked medical institutions to be on the look-out and report anyone seeking treatment for multiple stab wounds after the injured bandit escaped.

According to a report, two bandits, one armed with a shotgun, entered the house at Robinson Street, Montrose, around 3 am demanding cash and jewelry. However, the owner of the house grabbed a knife, threw several blows at the gunman, and seized his gun. The bandits ran into the streets leaving a trail of blood which ended near the main road where police believe they boarded a vehicle.

Police retrieved the shotgun and have sent it for a forensic examination.
