A Freeport family is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help to bring 78-year-old Jamaludeen “Boyie” Wajadali home safely.
United National Congress (UNC) MP for Mayaro Rushton Paray, who was expelled from the PNM yesterday, said he was never a member of the People's National Movement (PNM).
In an email to the Guardian Paray stated, "I was never a member of the PNM .
"I never signed a PNM membership form. I was never interested in being a member of the PNM.
"I would like to reassure them that I am proud life time member of the United National Congress. Clearly the shocking defeat in the Mayaro Constituency is still having some residual effects at Balisier House.
"While they are still in Wonderland, I am in the real world conducting the people's business. I have a constituency to run and 35,000 people to serve. The election is over and I am about representation for all. Perhaps the news have not reached them. I am the elected Member of Parliament for the constituency of Mayaro."
Paray emerged victorious for the UNC in the Mayaro seat over PNM's Clarence Rambharat in the September 7 general election.
