The following is the TTPBA's statement.

"The Trinidad and Tobago Publishers and Broadcasters Association (TTPBA) mourns the passing of Dr. Anthony N. Sabga O.R.T.T.

Dr. Sabga's vision for ANSA McAL culminated in the formation of then Trinidad Publishing Company, now Guardian Media Limited (GML) - an integral member of TTPBA.

GML stands today as 7 radio stations; Trinidad's oldest newspaper The Trinidad Guardian (established 1917); and a free to air Television station.

Dr. Sabga's role in transforming the media landscape has been achieved and will live on as long as we have free media in Trinidad and Tobago.

The TTPBA expresses its condolences to Dr. Sabga's family and to the GML family.

May he rest in peace."
