Jamaludeen “Boyie” Wajadali

A Freeport family is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help to bring 78-year-old Jamaludeen “Boyie” Wajadali home safely.

Wajadali has been missing since Tuesday and his worried wife, Yasim Wajadali, told the T&T Guardian he suffers from dementia.

Wajadali was last seen at his Arena Road, Freeport home by Yasim around 1.30 pm on Tuesday. He was wearing a green plaid shirt and a pair of grey pants.

He is a retired schoolteacher and last worked at the Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive Secondary School as vice-principal.

“I gave him his lunch around 1.30 pm and when I went back to check that he had eaten about an hour later, I couldn’t find him,” Yasmin said.

Since then, the 68-year-old woman has been searching all the places Wajadali would usually visit in hopes of finding him.

The couple has been married for 45 years and has four children together.

“I have checked at his parents’ home, where he would go sometimes to just sit and relax, I have checked the school where he last worked and he used to visit sometimes. We used to go to the Temple by the Sea and lime sometimes, I have checked there as well but I can’t find him.”

A missing person report was made at the Freeport Police Station on Wednesday.

Yasmin is asking anyone who sees Wajadali to contact the Freeport police at 673-0027 or the family at 747-7054/731-4520.
