Fatima, Trinity East in giant SSCL clash
Fatima College can win the title with a victory today and other results go their way when the penultimate round of the Premiership 50-over Powergen Secondary Schools Cricket League (SSCL) bowls off from 10 am.
Fatima leads the standings with 87 points, eight points ahead of Barrackpore West and ten points ahead of third placed Trinity College East. Fatima faces Trinity East today at Fatima Ground on Mucurapo Road, Port-of-Spain.
With a maximum of 20 points available in a match, Fatima can win the title today if it grabs enough bonus points and fifth placed Hillview defeats Barrackpore.
Last week Fatima crushed Fyzabad by nine wickets at Fatima Ground with Daniel Brown doing the damage. Fast bowler Brown grabbed 7/9 as Fyzabad was dismissed for 36 in 11.2 overs batting first, before Fatima raced to 40/1 in 3.2 overs.
At the bottom of the table, last placed Vishnu Boys and seventh placed Presentation College, Chaguanas will square off at the latter’s school ground. Both teams are desperate for a win as the last two teams will be demoted at the end of the season.
