Joanni, Shaw set the pace in Tobago
The pair of Sol Joanni and William Shaw hold a one-shot lead after Day 1 of a hotly contested Scarborough Golf Cup which is being played at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort, Tobago.
On day one yesterday, Joanni and Shaw shot 86 in the two-ball, better-ball format to secure a slender lead over three teams on 87.
Kissoon Vanness and Mani Seepersad, along with the Dave Rajkumar/Moonilal Lalchan and Daniel Boodram/Shuffie Ali groups, had 87 on a rain drenched day in Tobago.
In hot pursuit is the team of Edmund Fernando and Felix Zamudio with a solid score of 88.
Today, all the teams will be going all out as several attractive prizes are at stake along with entries into the Sir Garry Sobers Golf tournament in Barbados later this year.
A total of 27 teams are challenging for top honour which is being staged by Caribbean Swing Promotions. This year marks the 14th edition of the tournament.
